We have assembled the finest group of cardiovascular specialists and sub specialists within our cardiovascular services team who not only understand your heart, but who also understand your culture.  Your attitudes.  Your jobs.  Your lives.

Because only with those shared bonds can you receive the depth of caring that it takes to traverse some of life’s most trying moments.  At OSUMC, our physicians, technicians and nursing professionals are dedicated to not only providing excellence in health care delivery to every patient, every time, we are also dedicated to your comfort, satisfaction and clarity in navigating the sometimes confusing waters of health care.

Our approach to cardiovascular disease recognizes the fact that our hearts do not exist in a world separate from the rest of our being.  Our comprehensive cardiovascular program benefits from a fully integrated hospital setting where we can treat you as the whole of your many parts.

When minutes matter…we’re here for you. That’s our pledge.

In the Cardiac Cath Lab, our team provides patients who are experiencing a heart attack with the high level of attention and care that are essential for a faster and less complicated road to recovery. By working closely with our Emergency Department team, we are able to reduce the time of treatment during the early stages of a heart attack and provide treatments when they are most effective.

With two new labs completely refurbished this year, we are able to offer the treatment and diagnostic capabilities that afford the best outcomes for our patients. Some of the treatments we provide are intravascular ultrasound, percutaneous left ventricular assist, and the ability to assess fractional flow reserve.

If you or someone you are with has chest discomfort, call for help right away. Calling 911 or your emergency response number is almost always the fastest way to get lifesaving treatment.

Cardiac Rehab is an important component to any patient’s cardiac recovery. Patients are enrolled in the Cardiac Rehab program following cardiac surgery for lifestyle training to gain a more successful recovery. Each patient is given a tailored program based on their goals and needs. Patients are safely instructed while wearing a cardiac monitor observed by the nursing staff, so exercise can be increased or decreased accordingly. Most Cardiac Rehab regimens last 36 weeks and most patients stay in after care because the therapists becomes like family. After Care is available to those who have completed the Cardiac Rehab program and is $12/month.
